Cassava Starch
Cassava starch is known as tapioca starch in most world trade cycles. It is used directly, made into a group of baked or gelatinised products or manufactured into glucose, dextrins and other products. Starch and starch products are used in many food and non-food industries and as chemical raw materials for many other purposes, as in plastics and the tanning of leather. Non-food use of starches - such as coating, sizings and adhesives - accounts for about 75 per cent of the output of the commercial starch industry. Koskal will be producing high-quality food-grade starch that meets international standards, making starch produced eligible for use internationally and locally.
High Quality Cassava Flour (HQCF)
High quality cassava flour (HQCF) is unfermented cassava flour and can be used as an alternative for starch and other imported materials such as wheat flour in a variety of industries.
Uses of HQCF include raw material for the production of glucose syrups, industrial and potable alcohol, bakery products, the production of adhesives, as an extender for plywood glues and as a source of starch in textile sizing.
Koskal will produce high-quality cassava flour that meets international
standards, making HQCF delivered eligible for use internationally and
locally.
Ethanol (High in Alcohol)
Ethanol is an important industrial chemical; it is used as a solvent, in the synthesis of other organic substances, and as an additive to automotive gasoline.
Ethanol is used to manufacture drugs, plastics, lacquers, polishes, plasticisers, beauty products and cosmetics.
Ethanol is also the intoxicating ingredient of many alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine, and distilled spirits. As a food additive, ethanol can help evenly distribute food colouring and enhance the flavour of food extracts.
Ethanol mixes easily with water and many organic compounds and makes an effective solvent for use in paints, lacquers and varnish, and household cleaning products.
